Yeah, I'm thinking about writing a response to this. While this guy
accuses the OS community of living in la-la land (my words) he is doing
the same with statments referring to Microsoft products

"The products are vastly more secure and are wrapped with an
infrastructure of services that makes them much harder to penetrate and
vastly more capable."

Who on this lists thinks MS products are MUCH more secure than a few
years ago? a little, yes . . . but much?

XPSP2 only recently added a usuable firewall and encourages users to
turn it on--which is a step that Most Linux vendors are not even taking
~ BUT EVERY ACCOUNT IS still created as an administrator. HOw is this
any different from win9x. Just because people could turn off the admin
rights doesn't mean they will. In fact, they wont. Partly because you
have to BE admin to run half the legacy apps.

Then you have the CEO of Linspire saying that running as root DOESNT
MATTER because your data is what's important. This shows obvious
IGNORANCE of the root of the HUGE viral problem that is plauging the
Windows desktops.
