apt-get install openoffice.org2 -t experimental

This is Mike. Its actually a problem with the database drivers and the
possible lack of an index field in the database. I ran the macro I
found on a user's forum with no change in the results. Then I added an
index column to the database, which was an import from a simple
spreadsheet, and now I can add and delete records via Base just fine.
Although on reflection, I should have added the index field first and
checked those results. I am gifted with incredible hindsight.
