Scott:
I ran this on OpenBSD and it just tried to fork but it did not lock
up the computer:
bash-3.00$ :(){ :|:& };:
[1] 25873
[1]+ Done : | :
bash-3.00$ bash: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
bash: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
bash: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
bash: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
bash: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
bash: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
bash: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
bash: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
<Snip - hundreds of lines>
So it looks like a fork bomb. Hopefully Robert will expalin the syntax.
