Hey Lee, I was wondering if you have tried out OO 2.0 base. it was
released today. I have played with the beta a few times and it seems
very access like to me but I dont have enough access experience to know
what might be lacking.

I have looked at it briefly, but the main problem I see is that OO Base creates 'documents', in that you have to have OO installed in order to use anything you have created. That's a great metaphor for using the database as a piece of a document, spreadsheet, et al, but doesn't permit anything like you can do with Access.

The second big problem is that there is no scripting language available - I have never seen an Access application that didn't require code behind one or more events of an object or form.

It's a great start, however, ..
