I dont know what all the fuss is about with this whole gnome vs kde
desktop thing. I never have trouble using the apps from one on another
so I'm guessing that the people are ranting are developers who are
unhappy with trying to make an app act the same way under both desktops.

But so what. Do they complain because they can't make the app work the
same way when they port to windows? that's obviously not easy when
using KDE or GNome libs. If they want to work out some common api for
both desktops great! more power to them but shut up and just do it.
I'm tired of hearing about how kde and gnome apps dont work together
when I never see any evidence of that from a user point of view.

It works fine for me under kde. Does it now work under gnome? why is
this the fault of the desktops? Acrobat used to use the athena widets
and still does to some degree as far as I can tell.
