Hi,

I'm no Mac expert but in general backward compatibility is always
easier to arrange than forward compatibility -- so I would suspect
that you want to go back as far as you want to support and use that
version for building your binaries. Mac and Windows do not evolve as
quickly as Linux does so if you're only interested in supporting the
"majority" of machines out there you might not have to do anything
special at all. As for other tips on the Mac I can't really help much.
I do have a Mac Mini, though, so I can do a bit of testing if that is
going to help....
