I'm going to let Fred review this a bit more. It definitely needs a testcase
and I think the error handling needs a bit of work, (logging failures at level
fine doesn't seem to be the best idea) but Fred will know how to handle all of
that.
Anyway, I'll assign this to me and I'll work with Fred to get the fix in.
