configuring the jetty inside

A long time ago, someone responded to some whining of mine by proposing
to make it much easier to configure the embedded Jetty. Did this ever
happen? I want to set up some unit tests for javascript clients and I
need to deploy some static content, and if I could just push this all
together in Spring it would be really convenient.
