Is it possible to have a box. The contents of which are owned by no player.
Where only the blank sides of the counter can be seen. From which players can
"pull" a random counter from the mix, place it on the mapboard and once
"pulled" becomes owned by that player (unrevealed until the owner chooses to do
so)? Then once a designated number of counters are pulled from the box, the
box "locks" and no further numbers can be drawn? Or, better yet, have the
"game" draw the counters at game start and lock itself?
What I want to do is establish a box filled with variant counters
(numbered 1 through 20 or 30) so that once a counter is pulled (say #17) - only
the player that pulled that number knows what it is until he chooses to reveal
it and the next player to "pull" a variant chit has a pool of all remaining
chits. "Locking" the box after drawing chits prevents "peeking" (e.g.
cheating) at the remaining number of chits to determine your opponents chit.
This is useful in Third Reich as the variants for the Axis and Allies
represent the same ability and there is currently no easy way to do this. If
possible, can someone do this or tell me how it is done?
