There is a considerable group of players of Federation and Empire that use
CB. We are hoping to someday use a large monitor laid flat with a touch
screen to play FTF.

Well depending on how you play your still playing a board game. Just using
an electronic board. I play The Fighting wings games PBEM and Cyberboard Is
my board. As I'm in about 10 diferant games at the moment. I dont have the
space to have all the boards set up. When some one sends thier move then I
make it on the board. Some reffes will send a .gmv file at the end of the
turn. And we play with people from all around the world.

So it works great as a board game and long distance. At least for me.

But CB only has a range of 10-20 miles, and I can only get a bandwidth of
2400
  baud at best!

(Playing this joke for all it's worth ...)

PBeM moves using Cyberboard, I sure don't want to sit in front of a computer
screen to play the thing.? I sit in front of the computer all day.? It is
nice to get away from the computer now and again.
