When I choose it I don't see a helpful line like I do with a plotted move. If I want to change a unit's facing at some point, do I do this with the compound move button, and if so how? Thanks in advance!! >
Chuck, when I click on the compound move button, I see a little zig- zag with tiny squares next to the cursor. I also see something like "CMOVE" in the lower right-hand corner. It's like a special recording of moves within the Move File. I can grab a piece (or stack) and move it on its way, one hex at a time, change facing, add an info marker, whatever until I click the End Compound Move button (or the cancel button). If you have a row of units and you want to advance them together as a line, you can select all of them and move them together, simultaneously. When the other guy replays your move file and gets to the compound move, the piece(s) will move one hex at a time automatically, without having to click on the Next Move button, just as you moved it. He'll see a square in every hex you placed your piece(s) in so he can follow the trail. If you added a marker or rotated the piece, that will happen automatically too, until it gets to the end of the recorded compound move. Some folks don't like it, but I use it to save on mouse-clicking. John
