Thanks all for the useful information so far. I am located in the Caribbean,
and assumed that I would have to acquire language-specific operating systems
as well? or will language-specific software run on english-language
operating systems (obviously much easier to acquire)?
There has been an increase in the number of Cyber-cafes locally, and
although hourly rates are relatively cheap (1-2 USD), equipment costs are
same as US/ UK, and Internet Access costs are very high (1500 USD/ month for
64k leased line). Ideally I would like to target a niche of exchange
students and temporarily displaced businesspersons, so I am trying to
determine what other costs would be involved in providing language-specific
services. Of course there are cultural and other intangible barriers that
must be crossed, but any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
