I do agree with deleting some "non-important" stuff...but who is to say what
is not relevant to another. What was said in one paragraph may be important
to another person for complete understanding (like including my line so
another can see what you were replying to). When text is taken out of
context that is where misunderstandings come from....a classic case is Bible
verses, all churches say they are the correct one and they all take text
out-of-context from the Bible to prove it. How about if you and I and
everyone else allows the person sending the email decide what is important
to keep in and what is not?

No, and that is probably the only thing in this email issue that needed
addressing and nothing more. For you I will make and effort and delete all
footers.

You mean less to read. We are fastly becoming a world that does not like to
read. However, I see your point, but see mine too...I have not the time to
be picky about everything, do you??
I have a boyfriend that can't stand this kind of email, he wants everyone to
use HTML format. Shall we all conform to him because it "looks better and is
easier to read" (his words)???
If there was a one world government that dictated the way everyone were to
do things do you think it would be a better place? Do you think taking away
a person's individualism is better than trying to accept that person for who
they are (including the way they write email)?? If this one world
government were to ever take control we will all loose what Freedom we have
and that includes in how we write email. Would you like that?

Wouldn't you like to know what was the original email and who was the
original emailer? Or what that original emailer's information was? If I
took out just the words "Original Message" would you know which it was?
Remember, selective replying can cause misunderstandings, it is also a way
to manipulate what another was trying to say to make them look bad or good.
If we choose to take out information and only use what we deem necessary
then we are as guilty as our governments in manipulating half truths. Wars
are created on half truths. We the receiver, in essence, can cause our own
half truths by not including something that was important to the sender when
we cut out some of what the sender said that was important to them. Our own
selectiveness can cause our own misunderstandings and thereby cause bad
feelings from others.
How would you like it if I cut out your web site in the reply, knowing this
is going to everyone. You have lost some extra chances in someone seeing
your web site URL from my return email. This is free advertising I am
giving you by keeping it in my return email. Would you want that or shall I
just delete it because it is not important to me? You can't have everything
when you make the rules that ultimately rule yourself out.
