Newport Beach, Calif.-based Emergent Information Technologies'
latest contract to provide high-tech assistance to law
enforcement is a nearly $2 million assignment for the
"National Institute of Justice Center Requirements Definition,
Technical Assistance and Analysis" for the Rome, N.Y.,
Research Site of the Air Force Research Laboratory. The
contract calls for assistance in the operations of the
National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology
Center--the areas of cybercrime, computer forensics, and
concealed weapons detection--and the Advanced Generational
Interoperaiblity for Law Enforcement program. Emergent started
providing support for the National Law Enforcement and
Corrections Technology Center when it opened in 1995. Advanced
Technologies & Law Enforcement Division Vice President Dana
Rauscher says that her staff's aid in reducing arson, drug
crime, and violent crime in Rome is its most significant
