From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] TWO MEN ARRESTED OVER FATAL SHOOTINGS SPREE 060819 JUL 00 By Ashley Broadley, PA News Two men have been arrested by detectives investigating a city's spate of shootings, police said today. In a series of gun attacks in the Leeds area since March two people have been killed and seven wounded. A West Yorkshire police spokesman said two men from Southall, west London, both in their 20s, were arrested at Doncaster Prison, South Yorkshire, yesterday. They were on remand for unrelated matters, the spokesman added. "The arrested men have been detained at police stations in Leeds and will be interviewed today in connection with a number of the Leeds shootings," he added. Police were last night granted a further 24 hours to question a 26-year-old Sunderland man in connection with the shooting of a father-of-two in Morley, near Leeds. Anthony Nixon, 36, was shot through the window of his home in America Moor Lane as he watched television on June 23. The former motor dealer suffered injuries to his stomach and foot. Mr Nixon had been relaxing on a sofa. His wife and father-in-law were in the house and his children were upstairs in bed.
