Maybe gas porting would help.

Maybe not!

The Glock 18 has a ported barrel. I've shot various small SMGs
such as the MAC-10, M11/9, MP5K and Mini-Uzi.

Couldn't hit a blessed thing with any of them with no stock
from the standing position, gun held out in front of me.
First shot connected, but the rest were all over the
place.

With the stock open I could get hits with the Mini-Uzi,
but it was hard holding it down to short bursts (three
minimum) and although I could get three hits on the
silhouette, the third shot was always peripheral.

The MP5K I used had a laser sight, holding it firmly
by the hip it was possible to get short bursts on
target.

Steve.
