The article was referring to the benefits of using steel alloys
containing molybdenum for making barrels, bolts and receivers. The
molybdenum used for impact plating bullets and in lubes is actually
molybdenum disulphide (MoS2), a different material altogether.

Molybdenum  disulphide is an outstanding cast bullet lube, both as a dry
coating and as an additive to a conventional wax lubricant. With
jacketed bullets I've not seen any ballistic difference but it sure
makes them look pretty and the are barrels easier to clean.

I've noticed a slight drop in MV with moly coated bullets.
