This from the "Leicester Mercury" on the careless coppers...but at least,
this time it was only fifteen rounds! Last time wasn't it Notts Police that
lost the four revolvers?
"Bullets Found: Police said today they had recovered a magazine containing
15 rounds of live ammunition lost by armed officers. A member of the public
from the Carrington area of Nottingham rang police at 2.45am to say he had
found what he thought was the missing magazine. The alarm was raised
yesterday afternoon after an initial search by police failed to locate the
ammunition. Two officers in an armed response vehicle reported it missing
the night before"
It reminds one of the old schoolboy joke: "Sir, sir, my pen (or for Notts.
ARV read "magazine") has run out" "Well go and fetch it back then"
