The AFOs I have dealt with in West Mids. are pretty good shots.
(Except for the one who put a shotgun slug through the roof of
our range).
Presumably the person shot was partially behind cover, his wife.
Certainly there was an earlier case in West Mids. where a nutter
was threatening a cashier with a knife and they put him down
with two shots.
West Mids only has 81 full-time AFOs out of a force of 8,200.
