From: Peter H Jackson, [EMAIL PROTECTED]

This has not been well publicised (except by the BDS), but under
The Foot-and-Mouth Disease Declaratory (Controlled Area) Order
2001 Made 23 rd February 2001 (and under a similar Order for
Scotland?) all hunting and stalking is banned in Great Britain
from 5.00 p.m. on 23rd February 2001 until midnight on 2nd March
2001. For details, see:

http://www.maff.gov.uk/animalh/diseases/fmd/orders/fmd.PDF

and

http://www.bds.org.uk (the British Deer Society)

Arguably, all other _non-essential_ shooting activities in the
British countryside (and particularly target shooting on ranges
grazed by livestock) ought to be voluntarily suspended or
curtailed, according to individual circumstances.

Please accept my apologies if you receive more than one copy of
this message. Apologies also to overseas members of the fullbore
and BR lists who are not concerned by this problem.

Best regards,
Peter.
