All, It sounds like a great time was had by all who rode and partook in the refreshments. I'm sorry I wasn't with the group. But I did ride today for the first time in about 3 weeks (under the weather with a virus). I rode the Raleigh trail that starts at the Art Museum and rides over the beltline and around part of the Meredith College campus and back to the Art Museum for a total of ~ 5.1 miles. My first grand daughter got a mountain bike for Christmas (early gift) so after a late lunch I took her on the trail to try out her new bike. I'll bet none of you received all the happy hugs from your riding buddies as I did. Afterwards, she begged me to come and live with them. What a wonderful feeling. "Dang"! another ride report. I think most of us were really looking forward to a leisurely ride today after a busy week on the road. Then "Turbo" Dan shows up! "Dang"! Dan, Jeff, surf dude, Doc and I cruised up to Bend of the River, across the river to 301 then back through Elm City for 27 miles. Things were smooth riding after we got Dan to disengage the turbos for a while. On Lake Wilson Road we untied him and we blazed back to Wilson. Super nice ride again today. Post ride cupcakes and recovery drinks were all right. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!!!
