Jeff I usually buy from Velowear.com. They put a lot of pro teams in
kits and the quality of their shorts to me is very good. They normally
last me up to 2 ears if taken care of properly. Their more expensive
shorts or bibs of course are like any other brand. Top notch. And they
tend to have a sale with great deals weekly.

Good to know my selections and experience line up with a true heavy
mileage rider like Tim. In general you get what you pay for and
Continentals are no exception. It seems that if you are riding enough
miles to simply "wear out" bicycle tires rather than have to replace
them due to some kind of damage from the road or an accident you are
truly riding some miles. What a great problem to have!

Does any one have stronger thoughts on shorts?

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try one of those tires next time I buy.

The last Descente$ shorts I bought only lasted a year. Back to izumi or
will try cannondale this time.

Shorts are hard to tell because I rotate around 7 pair and several
brands. The heavier weight material last longer no matter which brand
you use but the lighter weight material shorts breath better during
warmer months. I haven't had issues with any brand.

Tires on the other hand have drastically different life spans. I
think the most durable longest lasting is the Continental Grand Prix
4000's. I've tried a few other brands but the only other one I've had
long life success with is the Michelin Pro 3's.

        So, Tim
Since your going through tires and probably shorts on a regular
basis.

        You're an excellent resource.

What brands are you having the best luck wth these days?

Tim said an ez 25 I believe. Can't imagine why he only wants to do 25.
He's only got a 600k this weekend. Hmmmm. Could we meet at Tim's
office around 10:30? Would that work for everyone? kp
