Heat, sanctioned rides(ie--BSG), downpours, vacations etc. In support of the BSG in Valle Crucis NC nick has organized a local BSG beer/seat/gear ride while the heavy hitters are clanging their chainrings on grade. Best to watch this site and observe when a ride is posted and respond. Seems the rides pull together when people respond and say they will show up. My wife and daughter also ride with me occassionally but my daughter is looking to get back into riding again. When with her, we'll be looking for 20 mile rides at around 15mph.
