Stage 14 Revel to AX-3 Domaines, 184.5 km Christophe Riblon-AG2R La Mondiale won today's stage ahead of a group of contenders for the Yellow jersey. Today saw the leaders take from and center in the race. All of the top 10 in the General Classification were toward the front today as the Tour entered the Pyrenees. Every move will be contested from here on until we have a winner. The next three stages are all in the mountains so look for the Andy and Albert show to pick up the pace.
Yellow: No big shake up here but the margins between the top 6 riders got smaller. Andy Schleck-Saxo Bank still holds a very slim 0:31 margin over Alberto Contador-Astana. Samuel Sanchez Gonzalez-Euskaltel Euskaidi made a slight advancement today and is now 2:31 back. Denis Menchov-Rabobank is in 4th narrowing his gap to 2:44. Jurgen Van Der Broeck-Omega Pharma Lotto is 5th 3:31 back while Robert Gesink-Rabobank move up to 6th, 4:27 back. Levi Leipheimer fell to 7th 4:51 back and Joaquin Rodriguez-Kathusha is 8th 4:58 behind the leader. All other riders are over 5:00 back. As expected the front runners are making their moves but they have no choice as Schleck and Contador will hammer away in the mountains. Green: No changes here today. Alessandro Petacchi will wear green tomorrow with 187 points, Thor Hushovd is 2nd with 185 and Mark Cavendish is 3rd with 162. The sprinters are not expected back in force until Friday. Changes here will be small but it will not take much to move the jersey between Alessandro and Thor. Polka Dot: Anthony Charteau extended his lead slightly to 115 points while Jerome Pineau is still second with 92 points. Andy Schleck is 3rd with 76 points. Samuel Sanchez Gonzalez is 4th with 68 points. With the overall leaders going at it on the climbs for the next few days we might actually Andy Schleck move up further in the points. White: Andy Schleck still hold a strong lead over Robert Gesink who is 4:27 behind. Teams (note, the leading team wears yellow race numbers while they lead). Caisse d'Epargne now leads over Radioshack who is only 0:08 back. Tomorrow: Pamiers to Bagneres De Luchon, 187 km. More mountains. This stage starts off flatter than yesterday but ends with a bang. Things are very close and we could see some changes. We shall see........ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CyclistsOfWilson-COWs" group.
