I always take the wetsuit and like you prefer to wear it in open water. Looks like water temp is at 80 right now. with all the rain you might just get lucky and it will drop to 78. Bert might know more about how fast ocean water temps drop with storms.
here is the site I looked at: http://www.swellinfo.com/surf-forecast/myrtle-beach-south-carolina.html good luck and I hope your foot is better DC ________________________________ From: Kinnie Pruden <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wed, September 29, 2010 1:11:54 PM Subject: [COWs] whatever As the NC riders drudge through the cool rain, ughhhh, I'm wondering if Saturday's race will be wetsuit legal. I prefer a wetsuit in the open water, esp. with a tropical storm blowing by! Darn. I know there are atleast two other COWs headed to Myrtle Beach this weekend. What do you think? Take the wetsuits, always? (Just in case.) My tip: if really windy, leave the aero helmet on the sidelines.
