In interest of full disclosure, during my “hammering” of the sisters, Target Hill and Airport Rd, I never dropped Mr. Lucas. In fact, at the end of each hammer session, Mr. Lucas was pulling away. This after he did his metric century earlier in the day. The guy is a beast.
It was a great night for a ride. “Cool” temperatures, light wind and steady pace led to a fun ride. The trip down Stott Road (?) in the down hill direction was awesome. From: Tim & Susan Sent: Tuesday, July 26, 2011 8:20 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [COWs] Tuesday Ride Reports! Cruised out solo from Nashville to Bailey, headed for the whirligigs. Crossed paths with James L. on 581. We then cruised together to Lucama and back towards Wilson. James heads home with 40+ miles, I continue back to Nashville for 63 miles. It was a great morning to ride. Cloudy with mild temps though still very humid. Susan, Bob L., Bob D. and I cruise out this evening headed for Bailey. Being a small group, Bob L. sets a brisk pace on Horne's church. The pace remains a tad more than a usual BC ride, and then lil' Bob starts throwing punches. Hammers the 3 sisters, then Target Hill and again on Airport Rd. My head is spinning. 30 miles and another great ride, especially with the sub 90 degree heat. Another 100K in the morning.
