My apologies for the tardiness of this report, we had a mix up in our
reporting.

A small but strong herd of 4 COWs, Wally, Doc, Steve B and LR rolled out
of OSBs at 7:00 am to get a ride in before the heat got us. The route
had a lot of turns but provided the group with 41 miles which was
covered at a 19.5+ avg. The route was out Nash/58 to Hornes Church Rd.,
Old Smithfield Rd., Graham-Brantley Rd., Old Bailey Hwy. (up potato
hill), Sandy Cross Rd. with a short stop at the store at the
intersection with 58. We continued back in on 58, Bend of the River
Rd., 97 back toward the airport and on to Vickers Rd. which changes
names to Tonya Rd. On to Homestead Rd., Stagecoach Rd., Sharpe Store
Rd. which becomes W. Nash St coming into Elm City. Turning on the Land
St (toward the post office), back on to Main St, Parker St, veering on
to 4 Tenths Rd., left on to Upchurch Rd. and across the railroad track
and back to the right on to Van Slyke Rd. Finally we turn on to London
Church Rd., Ward Blvd and back on Nash St to OSB.

Of note was an exceptionally strong pull by Wally. Like an Engergizer
bunny he just kept going and going with no complaints from the group.
Steve B continued to build his reputation as a climber, surging up the
climbs like a Billy Goat. Doc clearly got some kind of performance
enhancement in his medical treatment last year as he paced the ride. LR
was just hanging on having a good time on the ride.

Great group and great ride.

LR
