Tonight’s ride was a blast. I enjoyed sitting in the back and wheel sucking
early in the route. Steve inspired some fast speeds tonight. His pull on 97
started the increases and Bert followed suit on Cliftonville. Steve took over
again on 58 and led us up the Silver Lake hill at 22. I got a great
downhill/downwind run after that that topped off at 37.7 and Vino blows by my
like I’m standing still; he had to hit 42. Awesome ride even if we finished in
the dusk.

Subject: [COWs] Thursday Evening Ride Report!

I hope everyone enjoyed the ride this evening as much as I. Doesn't get
any better! 9 riders again. Pete, Jennifer, James Steve B., surfdude, Tim S.,
Bob L., special guest, Mike Tandy, and I cruised out Horne's Church, North on
Old Smithfield, Graham Brantly, 97, Cliftonville & 58 for 25 miles.
We had the perfect setup this evening. Cold front approaching from the
north. Light winds getting out to 97, then the front nails us from behind on
97 and its NASCAR back to Wilson. 23/24 mph down 97, 25/27 through
Cliftonville. Tagged 40mph on 58 trying to catch Bob L. Every time I get
tired, Steve B. comes cruising by. Great ride, though we finished under the
lights, so no more 25 miles rides.
