Steve T., Wally and I tackled the 100 miler. We tore out of
Greenville with the hammerheads but I soon figured out that running
24/26 mph won't gonna help me finish the full 100. Wally and I backed
it down and hooked up with a second group while Steve continued with
the fast group. We regrouped at the 40 mile sag stop. Got a group of
about 15 to 18 riders organized there, agreed on a 21 pace and away we
go. Soon after the rain starts, just enough to eat the spray from the
bike in front of you for the next hour. The group does a great job of
holding a good pace and staying together the remainder of the ride.
Got in one more rain shower about mile 85 for good measure. Strong
ride by Steve and Wally.   Great ride even in the rain;  103 miles;
ride time 4hrs. 55 min. overall avg. just over 20 mph.
