Thanks to Ronnie and Chris for the recommendation of New Bern. Of course,
any CoWs interested in a slow paced century are welcome to join me.

I ride those areas of New Bern frequently with a few friends from
Atomic Cycles. I would personally take the New Bern ride. It's going
to be really nice. Great bunch of cyclists there. I'm disappointed I
won't be able to go!

I am trying to plan my Spring charity bike ride schedule and need some
help deciding between 2 centuries on the same day. May 5 there are
centuries in Columbia and New Bern.
I did the Columbia ride last year on tornado day. The route is an out and
back that circles Lake Mattamuskeet in the middle. It’s a good route for
a super cause (Make a Wish Foundation) with great volunteers and a cool
festival like atmosphere after the ride. It’s very flat with one “hill”
that is climbed in both directions.
I have never ridden in the New Bern area. The route is through Pamlico
county to Oriental and then Bayboro before heading back to New Bern.
There are apparently a couple of more hills (bridges) than the Columbia
route. The cause is the Coastal Land Trust.
So...the question is what would the natives recommend and is anyone
besides Steve Brake (Steve’s already indicated interest) interested in
doing either ride?
