As a new rider, I have never posted a report, but feel it is time to share. Today Brian (hubby) and I set out for our (now regular) lunch ride and the second venture around the Buckhorn triathlon loop. Last Friday we completed it with a 16.4 average and were felt pretty good with our accomplishment. I mentioned we should get our pace up to 17 as a goal today.
Out on 581 started great and turned onto 42. At mile 6 or so, I dropped my water bottle, such a rookie thing to do. Geez! Back on and tracking toward flower hill road I gained a little momentum and pushed to keep up with Brian. After the turn I took the lead and pulled as much as I could until Antioch ch rd and began to "rest" up for the Connor climb. We topped out at speeds of 35... I think this qualifies as a wee...weeeeeee moment. Here comes new sand hill ch rd. I made it up Friday, but just could conquer it today. bailey rd, bunn and then 581, where we raced it home at 22 mph. Averaged 15.3 today for a total of 17.4 miles. Beautiful way to spend lunch hour. Oh, did I mention the wind??? Marian M Sent from my iPad -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CyclistsOfWilson-COWs" group.
