Ronnie if you look down at the timing chart you will see it shows an overall avg pace and just under a moving avg. It is 19.9 because of the lights and and I didn't stop the timer till I got home.

Subject: Re: [COWs] 7 am ride

DC, Chris H, and I start out at 7:00 for the 6 county tour (Wilson, Nash, Franklin, Wake, Johnston and Wayne counties). DC and I had already decided to keep the pace 19 - 21 for the ride. Well... It started out that way. Temp was a cool 49 as we roll out 58. Route is displayed in Chris' post. As we warmed up, the pace increased slightly to 21 - 23. No wind to help or hurt made it fairly easy. The rolls on 97, 39, and 222 provided some challenges, but once crested didn't affect the pace at all. A little further down 222 everthing flattens out but the breeze begins to pick up just slightly. On Princeton-Pikevill road we pass the BC going the other direction, at least that's who we thought they were. Temps had warmed up nicely and when we got to 117 at Pikeville, the wind was somewhat at our back. However, with 60+ miles under the belt at that point, we kept the pace at a more sane 23 - 24 (dropping to 19 for the occasional roll).

Not sure why Chris' Garmin only shows an 18 average as both mine and DC's computer had a 21+ average for approx 82 miles. Anyway, no dog attacks, mechanicals or other mishaps. A great ride on some great roads. 99% smooth pavement. The roughest patch was on Old Smithfield headed to 97.
