It was good to see Vino come out of retirement again. He was riding as strong as ever and hung with all of the fast pulls. In his effort to apologize to his wife (who again proved to be the smartest Lucas), Tim left out the WHEEEE part of the ride. Simms Road was absolutely awesome with the tailwind. Tim, fenders and all, did a massive pull at speeds up to 28 mph. It was a really cool ride even with the cleansing shower at the end. A wild and fun ride on the playground. The regular crowd of 8 to 9 riders cruised out from Cloverdale. Vino!?!? WTH! Susan is making me write this report. I can't leave the office until it's done! I was instructed by SL before the ride to keep the route short. We needed to be back by 7:00 or very shortly afterwards because that's when the rain will come. Yeah right, I said. Radar is giving me the green light. We cruise to Sims. Instead of turning right to get us home by 7ish, I continue straight. I even ad another couple miles after we get back to Horne's Church road after BOB exclaimed "The clouds aren't getting any closer" Upon getting back to Silver Lake at 7:15 the rain fell. The last 5 miles in the rain. The last half mile in heavy rain. It was more refreshing than my after ride recovery drink. We'll maybe not! Anyway, Susan wuz right, I wuz wrong.
