I didn’t get my 65 miles like I wanted. I did get 50 miles solo though. I
had to stop to tend to some issues that came up on the farm. I'm going to go
for the other 15 later this afternoon. Very nice morning on the bike and
very uneventful.

Dale, Bob L, LW, Kaiser and I set out from DD for the old Connor hill route.
All is going according to Bob' s plan of 19/20 as we cruise Packhouse, w
Horne, Liles, stop at the C store. LW leads out back on Liles and hammers
out of the gate and chases down a tractor, the beginning of the excitement.
We all calm down and resume a reasonable pace through Bailey, Finch, on Camp
Charles the hills begin, kaiser is starting to get antsy by now and asserts
himself on several rollers and one long tempo,climb. On to smith rd and the
approach to Connor, Kaiser drops the hammer, approaching 30 as we begin the
climb. Dale takes the jersey, after a brief rest at the church it is onto
old Raleigh and more hills. Dale sets a scoring pace, 24/27, followed by
Kaiser who maintains pace but pulls too long and I take the jersey on the
sisters. Dale takes over on airport, kaiser and I are content to just
cruise in, but Dale attacks again. We stay right on his wheel up Wilson
Christian hill and hold on up target hill until the last 30 meters, Dale
stands up and sprints to the summit. 43 miles, 20 mph avg. Bob L complains
of too many century's and tired legs but he is right there all day.
Great day to be on the bike.
