Agree with Chris and DC. Trainers suck. There are very few times in
eastern NC where it is "too cold" to ride. I'm on my bike a minimum of
5 days a week and sometimes 6 days a week. I have used a trainer 2
times, and it was 2 years ago after an ice storm, for obvious safety
reasons.

However, IF you are the sort of person who, during the winter months,
goes to work when it's dark, and gets home when it's dark, I can
understand using a trainer out of neccessity. In that case, I have a
Fluid 2 and it served the purpose two times.

If I were going to ride a trainer habitually during the winter, I
would personally invest in a Kurt Kinetic RockNRoll or nicer. The Kurt
Kinetics have a MUCH more realistic road feel and allow your bike a
more natural rocking side to side motion that CycleOps does NOT allow.
To add insult to injury, I'm sponsored by CycleOps and get a KILLER
price on all their products. My trainer was dirt cheap...and I would
still spend the money on a Kurt if I was going to use it more than 1-2
times per year.

My 2 cents.
