Jeff,

Thanks for asking. I was on vacation all week last week down at the beach
with my 4 children and families (10 grandchildren). There is nothing like
playing with grandchildren and watching them enjoy themselves. Got to go
fishing with my oldest grandchild (age 13) - lots of fun. Had hoped to go
biking on my new Madone 5.2 with her and my son-in-law who just bought a
new Madone 3.1. But, alas, that wish was not meant to be. As you are
probably aware, a car hit me and caused injuries that are still preventing
me from riding. Injuries were to my head, elbow, shoulder, hip and knee.
Fortunately no broken bones nor concussion. While my injuries feel much
better now than they did a week ago, I suspect that I have rotator cuff
injuries in my left shoulder, but I'm not sure. At any rate, I doubt that
I'll be able to ride for at least another week because of the shoulder
injuries. Hope to see my doctor early next week for an opinion on the
shoulder. Also next week I hope to have an expert examine my Madone to
determine whether it can be repaired or not (might have hairline cracks
that I can't see). I will call the shop that I bought it from, Cycling
Spoken Here in Cary first to see if they have such an expert. Anyone know
which bike shops might have such an expert in case CSH doesn't. Looking
forward to getting back on the bike.

Would you believe the police accident report indicates damages totaling
only $50? That might pay half or a third of the price of a helmet.

James
