Too many things not going right and I was not having any fun late into the ride Wednesday night. Multiple causes for my demise like still getting over a summer cold, but the main culprit was showing up still 20 to 25 lbs overweight to a ride with this much climbing involved on day one. I was the heftiest dude on the starting line. My cheeseburger, beer and ice cream plan failed me! The worst part is that I still could have finished this ride but the fun factor was gone and my heart wasn't in the game anymore so I choose to bail.
