Here is some information on a double century in Kinston on October 6. It looks like the last lap will be in the dark. I will not be doing this ride because of a previous commitment in Hickory that day. Still working the final route details on the 50mi loop. Start time will be 7am Each loop will start & end at the Kinston Airport. Each loop will be 50-miles (plus or minus 10%) as needed to get the distance as close to 200-miles as possible without going under, or significantly over. It would be safe to assume each lap with time to stop for aid, refuel, use bathroom etc. and average a moving pace of 16mph will take approx 3.5 hrs making each lap leaving the airport approx: Lap 1 leaving at 7am Lap 2 leaving at 10:30am Lap 3 leaving at 2pm Lap 4 leaving at 5:30pm Finishing 9pm Thanks, B On Sep 18, 2012, at 10:35 AM, BERT STATUM <[email protected]> wrote: Brandon ... do have more details regarding start time / start location / details of the 4 loops so that this may be passed on as well? They had a choice of routes and choose 4 loops of a 50-mile route so we would all have the option of joining them for 1, or more loops. A century is a huge accomplishment in cycling, the double is something many cyclists will never even attempt. I hope all of you will make room in your calendar to join these cyclists in 1 or more loops of fellowship and encouragement while they attempt this monumental feat.
