Here’s my plan for tomorrow...Meet KP at DD at 11:30 for 40 miles give or
take at a 151 watt pace (whatever that is). Hopefully, Wally can make
it.

Any other takers? Tim, Kim, Jim, Chicken Toes, DC??? How about
you, LR?

151 watts. :) Tim and I did this last week. I think
it came to around 18 avg depending on wind and hills. Hope Wally can do
that time of day. kp

KP...What kind of pace are you looking for tomorrow? I can leave
earlier, but I’m not looking for a 20 mph average.

Wally...any chance you can go at 11:30?

Hey: I would like to get in about 40 miles tomorrow but need to
be home (Red Oak) by 2:30. If anyone is leaving out a little earlier (c.
11:30) and wouldn't mind some company I'd love to join you.

DC, LR and Bob L left DD at 1 PM today for a battle against the wind.
We headed out Nash and Hornes Church into a very strong wind with the pace
dropping to 14-15 mph for extended periods. A left at Stoney Hill Church
did not improve the situation as we now had to battle the wind and the long
uphill slog to Pace. The speed picked up as we headed toward Bullhead
thanks to a crosswind. After the turn onto Bullhead the pace went
immediately to 22-24 with almost no effort. Not one to miss an
opportunity, DC takes off with Bob L on his wheel. By the time we reached
Old Smithfield, we had reached a top speed of 35.6 with DC wishing he had used
that last gear and pushed to 40. A right turn on Sims led to a split of
the group with DC heading to Sims and LR and I turning left on Madame
Bogart. We took it easy the rest of the way back to Nash via Lamm,
Bloomery and Packhouse. 30 miles with a 17.7 mph average through a 17 mph
wind with 20+ gusts.

Overall a very nice ride on a blustery day.

I will be riding tomorrow at 1 PM and will meet any takers at DD.
Post if you plan to ride or I will leave from the house for a solo ride.

Thursday Ride

I plan to ride tomorrow afternoon at 1 PM after the temperatures heat up a
little. I’m looking for at least 30 miles, but the winds might cut the
distance short. I’ll be happy to meet anyone at DD. If no one posts,
I’ll leave from the house and ride solo.--
