I'm interested in becoming package maintainer for libsmi (http://www.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/projects/libsmi/index.html).
This package builds out of the box. The only changes I've done is to create three separate packages: libsmi: the documentation on the package (README, COPYING, etc.) libsmi-devel: the static library, include file, and .3 man pages libsmi-tools: executable files and .1 man pages I've used the tool "smilint" that comes with this package for doing lint checks on SNMP MIB documents that we create where I work. The package builds without problems and "make check" returns successfully for all tests. http://abraham.backus.com/release/libsmi/setup.hint http://abraham.backus.com/release/libsmi/libsmi-0.4.1-1-src.tar.bz2 http://abraham.backus.com/release/libsmi/libsmi-0.4.1-1.tar.bz2 http://abraham.backus.com/release/libsmi/libsmi-devel/setup.hint http://abraham.backus.com/release/libsmi/libsmi-devel/libsmi-devel-0.4.1-1.t ar.bz2 http://abraham.backus.com/release/libsmi/libsmi-tools/setup.hint http://abraham.backus.com/release/libsmi/libsmi-tools/libsmi-tools-0.4.1-1.t ar.bz2 libsmi setup.hint: ===================================================== sdesc: "libsmi" ldesc: "Library to access SMI MIB information" category: Doc ===================================================== Libsmi-devel setup.hint: ===================================================== sdesc: "libsmi-devel" ldesc: "A library to access SMI MIB information" category: Libs Devel requires: gcc libsmi external-source: libsmi ===================================================== Libsmi-tools setup.hint: ===================================================== sdesc: "libsmi-tools" ldesc: "Tools using a library to access SMI MIB information" category: Admin requires: cygwin libsmi external-source: libsmi ===================================================== -Abe
