I admit that was a WAG on my part. However, looking at the upset source, the error message comes directly from the contents of "external-source", so it's not too surprising that it's correct (and, IMO, doesn't indicate that there's no bug). You're in a better position to test the theory, but I'll see if I can trace this when I have some time.
