Marco,

The python2 2.7.18-1 update dropped the dependency of python2-devel on python27-devel

Was this deliberate?

(I noticed because this broke meson's CI, which installs python2-devel and expects to get Python.h etc.)

Thanks for the python updates!

thanks, it is taking longer than expected because
I am founding interesting things I never noticed
on the other packages.

like 3.6.10 requires a case sensitive file system
and a case sensitive mount.
I never needed neither of the two and I was puzzling
about python.exe vs a Python directory for few hours...

no. I had the impression to have only changed the version number
and rebuilt.

But I could remember wrong

Yeah, that seems to be the case, looking at the cygport.

Perhaps cygport's automatic dependency detection didn't work correctly for some reason? (It probably doesn't if python27-devel isn't already installed, for e.g.)

may be; repacking I see now :

>>> python2-devel requires: python2 python27 python27-devel
