I followed the new installation instruction now I no longer get that error. However, it does not bring up a gnome-terminal. I end up back at the system prompt. I `strace' and can see where it starts up dbus-launch, dbus-daemon, stats .dbus-keyrings etc. (I already have the system dbus running in case you are wondering). But no gnome-terminal. How can I fix/debug this?
