I am unsure how to troubleshoot the issue of kdenlive not starting. I have done cygcheck and appearently all the dll's are installed. I am also unable to get a kde desktop to start up even though I have installed every kde package and dependency. The kde desktop starts to initialize but hangs right after the icon for the harddrive flashes a few times and this is the the output I get from the terminal:
$ startx /bin/startkde xauth: file /home/Administrator/.serverauth.1716 does not exist xauth: file /home/Administrator/.Xauthority does not exist xauth: file /home/Administrator/.Xauthority does not exist xinit: XFree86_VT property unexpectedly has 0 items instead of 1 startkde: Starting up... . I don't know if the two issues between the kde desktop and kdenlive are related. I did install amarok as a test application and it does load and run occcasionaly, but I am having trouble reproducing the proper procedure I used to get it running ( it fails to run consitently and hangs on a "kbuildsyscoca4 running..." message. I press ctrl-c to terminate then I get the amarok splash screen then it dies, this procedure was from xterm within the X server) anyways one of the first messages amarok displays is: "amarok(2636)/kdeui (KIconLoader) KSharedDataCache::Private::mapSharedMemory: Failed to establish shared memory mapping, will fallback to private memory -- memory usage will increase" this is all very odd to me. so basically the kde desktop is broken, kdenlive is broken, and amarok is broken for me. any help appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Simplify data backup and recovery for your virtual environment with vRanger.
