OK, here's my 1st experience :)

I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (russian) and I followed installation
instructions accurately.
I downloaded the latest version of http://cygwin.com/setup.exe and
launched it from cmd with setup.exe -K
http://cygwinports.org/ports.gpg command.
I selected Install from Internet, selected a mirror
(http://mirror.kernel.org) then entered
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/cygwin-ports in User URL, clicked
Add, made sure that both mirrors are highlighted.

I selected *absolutely all* packages to be installed, then it still
prompted to install dependencies, I ticked to install all those too.
The download went fine, installation has begun and went fine too.

At the point of executing postinstall scripts setup stalled like this
http://i53.tinypic.com/hryg3k.png
At first I thought it just needs time so I left it for the night. But
no, in the morning it was on the same stage.

I looked into hicolor-icon-theme.sh script, saw
gtk-update-icon-cache.exe in task manager, killed it. The installation
went on.
Then it stalled again on gnome-icon-theme.sh
I looked into this one, saw gtk-update-icon-cache.exe in task manager
again, killed it again. And again the installation went on.

I had to kill gtk-update-icon-cache.exe a few times because setup
stalled at every postinstall script using this utility.
Then I made a (not so) smart decision to simply rename
/cygwin/bin/gtk-update-icon-cache.exe to
/cygwin/bin/gtk-update-icon-cache.bak and setup turned out to be smart
and continue working w/o this utility, just omitting calls to it I
guess.

Then at some point it stalled again. Don't remember the postinstall
script name exactly, but it was using fc-cache.exe
I did the same trick - renamed fc-cache.exe to fc-cache.bak and after
some time setup finished the installation. Everything seems to be good
and working right so far.

So, does this mean problems with fc-cache.exe and
gtk-update-icon-cache.exe? Maybe issues on x64 systems?
I guess I didn't ruin the installation because those 2 utilities seem
to be creating icons and font caches. That's not critical, is it?

Anyway, I'll play with my installation further and will check if other
issues arise. Just wanted to report this weird behaviour of above
utils.
