I'm using cygwin/Xfree86 to login to a KDE session on a Linux host using XDMCP. Everything works fine until the client requests a service that the server can't provide such as sound. When that happens the server locks up and becomes unresponsive. The only way to recover is to restart the cygwin/XFree86 server and login again to the nost compter. Needless to say this is very frustrating.
Does anyone know of a way to prevent this from happening other than not do anything that requests sound support (or any other service that cygwin?XFree86 can't provide)? Thanks, Tom
