Harold, Actually, I think I have to correct myself - I now think it is xwinclip that hangs up things. I found a way to reproduce the problem.
1) Add the line start xwinclip after the start twm line in startxwin.bat. 2) start cygwin/xfree with the new startxwin.bat 3) Go down and click on the windows meny bar and issue the command WindowsKey-E (to bring up windows Explorer). (WindowsKey is the key with a MSWindow on it). 4) After this I can't bring any windows programs up (at least for a while). Try to click the Start button, for example. The windows side of the machine become very sluggish. Lars.
