I saw there is a big improvement since the latest version. Only I don't get the AltGr key working well. It is unclear to me whether it is XFree, CDE, or X-Windows....

The latest XWin includes the keyboard auto-detection. Without any XF86Config files or xmodmap mappings it loads a default es layout for you.
It may be good to disable CDE (and any other) keyboard setting and let XWin do the work entirely.
