Lester, Exactly what kind of speedups are you expecting here? AFAIU, the GLX-accelerated XWin will give you speedup only for programs that use the GLX extension, which automatically excludes most standard X clients (e.g., xterm, emacs, etc). For applications not using the GLX extension, the GLX-accelerated XWin should be no different from the regular XWin.
