No - built --without-xim, on a patched Solaris, it doesn't crash any more _at all_, my only problem is fonts. I'll try getting rid of the 100dpi fonts. Built with (i.e. without setting --without-xim), I was pretty sure it crashed with BadAtom from unpatched machines, as that was my original problem and I remember it was different from the xterm scenario, but now I try it, it crashes with BadAlloc.
